Wyndcliffe Primary School is committed to raising standards and helping all children to succeed, regardless of background or circumstances, building a community based upon shared values and respect. We provide a welcoming, safe and friendly environment in which all children are encouraged to develop the skills of lifelong learning, helping them to become a valuable member of society.
Teaching
Our school is an energetic and exciting place to work, with staff that are open and willing to share their ideas, learning from each other. We are ambitious and focused upon achieving our vision for this school. We aim to provide an environment where pupils feel safe and valued, enjoy the richness of their learning, and are encouraged to learn in different ways. All the staff at Wyndcliffe aim to provide an interesting, relevant and inspiring curriculum for our children, which is stimulating and enriching - a curriculum that encourages participation, responsibility and the development of creativity, along with high expectations of themselves and others.
Learning
At Wyndcliffe Primary School we believe that pupils learn best from a broad and challenging curriculum, where they are engaged in learning which motivates, stretches and excites their imagination. Our curriculum enables pupils to develop socially and emotionally, as well as physically and spiritually, in order to prepare them to make valuable contributions to their community as lifelong learners. We encourage an independent approach to learning, which recognises the skills and achievements of all.
School community
Wyndcliffe Primary School recognises the diverse cultural backgrounds of its community and pupils, and values the role that these both play within our school life. We strive to provide children with opportunities to celebrate and learn from the richness of this valuable resource through community partnership. Our school curriculum is enriched by first hand experiences that provide opportunities for children to further explore their world, including visits locally and further a field, as well as encouraging contributions from adults with knowledge and skills that could expand pupils horizons. We believe we have a joint responsibility with both parents and the wider community for taking pupil’s learning forward and raising standards, equipping them with the basic skills that aim to improve their life chances.
